A Compound of Size Biased Geeta Distribution with Generalised Beta Distribution

Abstract --

A compound (mixture) distribution arises when all (or some) parameters of a distribution vary according to some probability distribution called the compounding (mixing) distribution. A well-known example of discrete type mixture distribution is negative binomial distribution which can be obtained as a Poisson mixture with gamma mixing distribution.

In this paper, an attempt has been made to obtain a compound of size biased Geeta distribution with that of generalized beta distribution. The resulting compound distribution so obtained generalizes several compound distributions. In addition to this, first order factorial moments of some compound distributions have also been discussed. In the introductory part we provide a chronological overview of the recent developments in the compounding of probability distributions.

Keywords -- Size biased Geeta distribution nistribution, generalized beta distribution, compound distribution, factorial moments.
